Topic: Feature Requests / I would actually sign up for a paid account if there was a native iPhone app. Seriously, why has this not happened yet? It seems like a no-brainer. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Journal on a Solo account Does anyone (like an administrator) know if there are any plans to change this? It really does seem like a ridiculous limitation. I’m all for “less”, but shouldn’t this at least be an administrator’s option, as randian suggested above? |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Journal on a Solo account I agree. This is sort of annoying. Why enforce that we be “honest?” I mean, should that really be Backpack’s job? Seems silly. |

Topic: Feature Requests / I Want Sandy Big +1 for me on this one. I posted something similar a while back in regards to adding reminders via SMS. But email would work equally as well. I absolutely LOVE the way Backpack sends me reminders. I just wish it were easier to get them IN to Backpack. Especially for mobile users…a quick SMS containing something like “r: go to the store 2/24 9am”, or a quick email with a subject of “Reminder” and a body of “go to the store, tomorrow 9am” would be so much easier than having to always access via the web, use the menus, etc… |

Topic: Feature Requests / Image URL --> Gallery Image (a la Tumblr) I would love to see the picture gallery feature be improved to allow a direct image link (URL) to be used to produce an actual image in a Backpack picture gallery. This works splendidly on Tumblr. When adding a photo, the user has the option to either upload an image (just like Backpack) OR to add an image URL. If they choose the URL option, Tumblr simply snags that image, resizes it if necessary, and adds it as a photo to the post. I often use Backpack to compile ideas, visual references, example photos, brainstorm ideas, etc. and it gets cumbersome to have to always download every image and then re-upload it to Backpack. Seems like it could also reduce the bandwidth and storage requirements to just let people link instead of making them upload. (I do love the way the new picture galleries are displayed, by the way. Very nicely done.) |

Topic: Feature Requests / Multiple Users in a given Backpack account I also just noticed this old thread, and would like to add a “+1” to the mix. The official “Backpack is currently a single-user product.” is, to me, completely insufficient. Obviously, people want, and would find great value in a simple multi-user system. Backpack has the potential to be a really GREAT collaborative tool. Why clamp down so hard? The permissions system in Highrise is fantastic. Simple, effective, and flexible. WHY is Backpack a one-person-only offering? Just doesn’t make sense. Why not make it just like Highrise: 1 user on the free plan, 3 (or even 2) users on the first paid plan, and on up… Hoping the rumors of multi-users in Backpack “X” are true. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Input Reminders & Notes via SMS Unfortunately, at least for me (AT&T + iPhone) this doesn’t work. I can only send to actual numerical numbers via SMS. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Is there a quick way to enter a time/date in a Reminder? I thought there was, but I can’t seem to get it to work. It is obviously not as smart as the calendar. Is there a way to enter a quick time/date into a reminder and have it set at that time…e.g., “Tomorrow 9:00am – Do something” ?? Thanks. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Calendar Email/SMS - Need More Times I would heartily agree. More specificity would be great for SMS reminders. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Textile Reference I couldn’t agree more. Backpack obviously doesn’t incorporate all of the rules of normal Textile. A Backpack-specific reference would be very helpful. And I also noticed that the “formatting help” link was gone. Why would you guys do away with that? (example of one Textile rule that’s not working…. |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Search on Help Page is Broken FYI – The Google Search on the Backpack Help/Support page is broken. It didn’t find the words “reminders” or “account”...which are ON the front page. Makes it hard to find stuff. :-) |

Topic: Feature Requests / Aesthetic Customization Please bring back the ability to apply custom CSS styles to any Backpack page. This used to be accomplished via the “Body” section, which is no more. I would LOVE it if something could be done to bring that back. Especially with Open Bar, it’s more and more annoying to have everything look different. Perhaps I’m just a picky designer, but I would sure love it if my Backpack, Highrise, and Basecamp sites could ALL look THE SAME. Basecamp provides nice customization features, but the others do not. Frustrating. |

Topic: Feature Requests / Input Reminders & Notes via SMS I’m sure this has been discussed and requested ad infinitum, but I thought I’d throw it out there: I would really like to see the ability to add new reminders and notes via SMS. I use Backpack reminders often and LOVE that they can send me an SMS at whatever time I specify. I would just like the process of inputting them to be quicker and easier. Twitter is a perfect example of painless SMS-based entry. I’d love to see a simple 37signals way of getting my crap into Backpack without having to load the web interface every time. (and yes, I’ve seen the recent blog post re: the guy that did the python script, etc. etc. —not really interested in a hack-around. Seems like something that should be built-in to Backpack.) |

Topic: System Announcements / The new Backpack is live!
I wouldn’t think so either…except it doesn’t seem to work. The pages where I just had the link to my CSS file no longer have that title-less note at all. There is nothing. And when I do place the link into a title-less note and hit save, nothing happens. The note never gets created at all (unless there is other copy in the note in addition to the CSS link (which looks like: <link href="http://myDomain.com/css/backpack.css" title="no title" rel="stylesheet" media="screen" type="text/css" charset="utf-8"> btw). I don’t mind the “body” section disappearing. It was sort of pointless anyway. But I really liked being able to specify my own CSS styles for my pages, or use other “hacks” like specifying a <base href="_blank"> for a given page. Any word on this 37s? |

Topic: Troubleshooting and Bug Reports / Search isn't working (in Safari 3.0) FYI. Search doesn’t seem to be working for me in Safari 3.0 (which I realize is still beta.) Just a heads up. I noticed it when I tried searching for a word that was in a note that I had recently moved from one page to another. When I searched, it brought up the original page as the result instead of the new page where the note now resides. |

Topic: System Announcements / The new Backpack is live! Is the “body” section now gone as well? I used it to import custom CSS for my pages. Seems it’s bit the dust (??) Otherwise, the new Backpack is fantastic! Love the upgrades. |
