Topic: Password protected pages +1 – great potential here for use in an intranet setting where each page is a a policy/procedure (containing internal info that is unfit for true ‘public’ access on the web) that is available to the whole company but can be edited only by a few. |

Topic: Password protected pages +1 I’ve been holding off for a year or more for this feature. Without the ability to easily password protect publicly shared pages, I find Backpack to be less useful than Google Docs which has this feature. I’m sure there are more important features that 37Signals are working on, but this one simple itty bitty enhancement would go a long way in my book. |

Topic: Password protected pages Hi 37s crew, I really understand that, when I want to share private information, this system forces some users (or a lot, I don’t know) to create an account, but it is also a turn off for some people that don’t wish to create an account. Just one password per page would be enough. When we make a page public, a textbox could appear asking for a password. If left blank, the page is shared as it is now. If not blank, the visitor would have to type in the password to have access to the information. This would really lift backpack to yet another level! Have a nice weekend. |
