I’m confused. The Help/FAQ says that I can share a calendar, but that nobody else can edit it but me. But when I try this out, I find that other people can edit my calendar. This is what I want – so am I misunderstanding something?

Here’s what I’ve done:

1. Logged in as myself, created a calendar and shared it with everybody (which is just me and my client).
2. Logged out and logged in as my client. View the calendar and edit it.
3. Logged out and logged back in as myself. View the calendar and edit it.

I’m experiencing the same thing. Although I wish there were a way to specify read only vs editable per user per calendar, I need at least for shared calendars to NOT be editable by users other than the owner! I’m wondering if this is a bug, because I remember not being able to edit shared calendars in the past.

While it’s possible to edit calendars that you’ve created in Backpack and shared with other users in your account, it is not possible to edit iCal feeds you share with other non-users in outside calendar programs. The Help item you are referring to is in reference to iCal feeds you share with external calendars.

You can edit any calendar that is created and shared inside Backpack, but not calendars you share outside of Backpack.
