Backpack Multiuser is Live

Early this morning we released Backpack multiuser. Full details can be found on the Product Blog: |

I’m a little confused. Wasn’t Backpack multiuser already? |
Rocks so far. I love the way permissions are done on the pages. I have one question, though: When I post a message, is it always visible to all users? Or do only the people I notify see it? |
The new Backpack is great! We are having an issue when trying to upload an avitar image for all of our users. None of us can upload a picture. |
I managed to upload one avatar but not the rest! |

I’m still on IE6 at work and a problem I have had is now gone. When displaying ‘all pages’ my tag names would display running down the page like a staircase, and the page list would start below that – way down the page. Now tags are all neatly listed to the right of the page list. Thanks! |

Everyone on the account sees messages. |
First, it looks great—but do I need to do anything to keep things as they are for now)? Thanks! Arlene |

arlene, from what I can tell (I was a $5/month subscriber before) nothing has changed for me in terms of the functionality that existed previous to the launch of the multiuser updates. I think the only way you can change anything about your account is by upgrading or downgrading the plan you are on. |
How do to-dos lists work in the new group setup? Are there group to-dos that all users can add and mark complete? Or can only the to-do list creator add and mark complete? |
Quick question: The blog entry states that subscribers to the former Premium plan would be switched to the $12 Home plan, but would get to keep their SSL. I’m a former Plus member interested in upgrading to Home…but can’t lose SSL. Will old Plus members have their SSL grandfathered in as well if they choose to upgrade? |
Dumb question: What’s the difference between a “user” and simply sharing pages as we’ve done before? |
Great to see Backpack getting some love and going multi-user. Would love to see the ability though for users to be able to specify whether they want to see calendars start on a Sunday or Monday. |
lawcomic: users can now have access to the entire basecamp site instead of the single page that you shared with them previously. they can create there own pages, lists notes etc and participate in messboard conversations (if you have that option) |
Thanks, jonezy, that makes sense. I also see the communal calendar is a feature of multiple users. Does that mean multiple users can edit a single calendar? |
Same question for the to-dos. Are the to-dos communal and can be edited and completed in a single list by multiple users? |
Are the to-dos communal and can be edited and completed in a single list by multiple users? Shared pages can be edited by anyone who has access to them. |

Question—two people in the family currently have backpack accounts. Could we combine them into one account, but with different logins? If we did, would we both see all of each other’s pages, or only the pages we have shared with each other? In general in a multi-user account, when I create a page is that page just for me or automatically for everyone else? I couldn’t tell looking at the documents. thanks! |
